Used cooking oil, commonly known as "jelantah," is a household waste often discarded carelessly, despite its potential to cause negative environmental impacts if not managed properly. In Cempaka Village, the management of used oil remains minimal, with little to no efforts to repurpose it into an economically valuable resource. Through this community empowerment program, the implementing team engaged PKK members (Women’s Empowerment and Family Welfare Organization) to transform jelantah into liquid soap, aiming to raise environmental awareness and create new household economic opportunities. The implementation methods included counseling sessions, hands-on training, and ipteks-based simulation (science and technology application) for converting used oil into soap. The results showed an improvement in participants’ technical abilities to produce soap independently, as well as the creation of marketable products. This program also succeeded in increasing active participation among housewives in productive and environmentally friendly household waste management
