Abstract

In the context of Indonesia’s cultural diversity, multiculturalism has become a critical issue in the practice of guidance and counseling. Counselors are expected not only to master theo-retical approaches but also to adapt their interventions to local cultural values as part of the client’s sociocultural context. This article explores the integration of the existential-humanistic approach with the cultural values of Lampung (Piil Pesenggiri ), namely Paseng-giri, Nemui Nyimah, nengah nyapur, and Sakai Sambayan. The existential-humanistic approach emphasizes the fulfillment of life meaning and self-actualization, while Piil Pesenggi-ri provides a normative and philosophical framework relevant to the local community's cul-tural characteristics. By combining these two elements, it is hoped that a more contextual-ized, inclusive, and effective counseling model can be developed to support clients’ personal growth.
