Abstract

The low reading interest among elementary school students is one of the main challenges in Indonesian education. This community service program aimed to foster students' reading interest through the Morning Literacy Movement implemented at SDN 1 Pagelaran, Lebak Regency, Banten Province, from August to December 2023. This initiative is part of the Kampus Mengajar Batch 6 and includes various innovative literacy activities, such as weekly material reviews, crossword puzzles, word searches, and syllable-completion games. The implementation method used a participatory approach between university students and teachers, along with direct observation of changes in students' literacy behavior. The results indicated a significant improvement in student participation, reading comprehension skills, and teacher involvement in designing creative literacy-based learning. This movement has proven effective in fostering an enjoyable learning environment, encouraging active interaction, and strengthening students' basic literacy skills. Therefore, the program is recommended for replication with contextual adjustments in other schools.
