Nurses frequently face physical and psychological violence from patients while carrying out their duties in hospitals. This study examines the legal framework regulating the protection of nurses and the implementation of such protection in hospital settings. Employing a normative legal research approach with secondary data and qualitative analysis, the study reveals that legal protection is primarily realized through professional standards, service protocols, and cooperation with the Indonesian National Nurses Association (PPNI), which supports nurses pursuing legal action. However, most violence cases are resolved amicably rather than through formal legal processes, as hospitals often prioritize reputation management. Furthermore, labor agreements and internal regulations generally lack explicit provisions detailing the legal support available to nurses in cases of workplace violence. This regulatory ambiguity contributes to inadequate legal protection for nurses, despite their essential role in patient care and hospital operations.
