PENERAPAN PRINSIP GOOD CORPORATE GOVERNANCE PADA PT. HANJAYA MANDALA SAMPOERNA

Abstract

The tobacco industry in indonesia contributes significantly to the economy, but it also poses adverse effects on public health and the company’s working environment. To address these issues, the implementation of Good Corporate Governance (GCG) principles is essential to ensure that companies operate ethically and responsibly. This study aims to evaluate the application of GCG principles at PT Hanjaya Mandala Sampoerna Tbk, one of the largest cigarette manufacturers in Indonesia. The GCG Principles anlyzed in this research include tranparency, accountability, social responsibility, independence, and fairness. The study employs a qualitative descriptive approach through a case study method. Data collection was conducted through literature reviews, company annual reports, and other relevant documents. The findins indicate that most GCG principles have been implemented effective, particularly in the areas of transparency, accountability, business ethics, and fairness
